The NYS Dept. of Health has extensive information on cleaning up after a flood, sanitation, food spoilage and a range of other topics.

Water

Purify Your Drinking Water

After flooding a Boil water rule may be placed into effect until the town water facilities have cleared. Anyone whose well was flooded should boil their water until their well has cleared and been tested for contamination.

Evacuations
Locations have been designated as evacuation shelters in Roscoe and Livingston Manor. Please contact the Town Hall for locations 845-439-5450.

If Someone Needs Assistance
If you know of anyone who needs assistance please call Town Hall 845-439-5450.

Call "211" - Officials are also urging any residents who expect to be displaced from their home or experience any other health and human services dilemma as a result of the flooding to call 211. 211 is a three-digit exchange (similar to 911) established by Hudson Valley United Way last year to help dispatch non-emergency calls for assistance throughout the region. Dispatchers can help direct callers to the proper agencies to find shelter, get medication or arrange counselling.

Road Conditions
During flood conditions contact the NY State Police about road conditions. The Town of Rockland Highway Department will be working to open and clear all roads as soon as possible after flooding. Some flood damage may make roads impassable. Please be aware of all roadside warning signs.

Livingston Manor Community Center
Donations are being accepted by the Livingston Manor Community Center for the Livingston Manor Relief Fund. You can also drop off donations at Hamish&Henry Booksellers on Main St., Livngston Manor orPeez Leweez on Pearl St., Livingston Manor.

The First National Bank of Jeffersonville is accepting donations for the victims of the flood.
